From Annabel Burton,
astrologer:
I have just contributed to an article for a health/fitness/beauty
magazine on star signs and alternative therapies.
The brief was to see if there is a link between certain therapies and
each star sign. Now, as a professional astrologer, I see star signs as
a simplistic overview, but useful nevertheless, and I was given four
to look at, namely Scorpio, Cancer, Pisces and Virgo. These were
apparently picked at random by the writer of the piece, although
intriguingly the first three are all water signs, associated with an
'emotional' quality, more likely to go with the hearts than their
heads!
I offered the view that Cancerians, for example, which in traditional
and ancients texts rules the stomach and breasts, may have issues with
comfort eating and problems with breasts. Scorpios on the other hand,
could tend to hang on to old stuff, and have difficulties in 'letting
go' both physically and emotionally.
My
question is to you therapists, have you noticed that you
attract clients who are born at a particular time of the year? Do you
record dates of birth?
I am exploring the possibility that certain therapies may attract
particular signs of the zodiac. Do Leos go for aura soma? Are Pisceans
more likely to go for reflexology (Pisces rules the feet) or is
herbalism particularly sort out by Virgos?

Great question Annabel!
Well, I'm a Gemini, with Scorpio rising...and my preference has always
been more for the "talk and learn" therapies, which are deep and
meaningful! And while massage is always nice, it never occurs to me to
have it - I guess that's because I don't have a lot of earth in my
chart...
In my psycho-spiritual coaching practice, I find that a lot of my
clients are Scorpios and Pisceans - with very few Capricorns. Leos
too, are fairly few and far between, although they seem to come for a
session when they feel things aren't going their way!
It's going to be interesting to see what kind of response you get to
this question...I shall watch with interest!

Thanks Olivia - that makes sense as Scorpios seem to be attracted to
uncovering memories from the subconscious and going deep within (ruled
by Pluto, god of the underworld, and had the power of invisibility).
And of course, talking is just so natural to Gems!
Pisceans do seem to be more 'spiritual' than physical..
I wonder if Capricorns are more attracted to those therapies that
focus on the body - cranio sacral, pilates, that kind of thing!

Olivia and Annabel, I do find it an interesting question. I am a Virgo
and as I understand they do tend to have issues with the bowels. My
twin sister has chrones disease and about 10 years ago I had lots of
issues with my bowels. Thankfully I did something about it in terms of
diet and resolved my issues quickly. It does mean that if I am
stressed or worried about something it does affect that region of my
body. I have noticed as a Kinesiologist that I do attract patients
that have issues with their bowels. Maybe it is something I focus on.
I also noticed that when I was training in Kinesiology there was one
particular protocol we learnt that was very long and involved
remembering a lot of techniques on the body. It is for the ICV or
ileocecal valve and most of my fellow students had great trouble
remembering the treatment, whereas it was my favourite treatment and I
learnt it very quickly and enjoy treating people with it. The ICV is a
small valve between the large and small intestine and in most people
it is out of balance. Having done the treatment on people the results
have also been amazing for them. So your question is interesting and I
can now see the link between my star sign, the bowels and why I like
treating people with those issues. How bizarre indeed. Thank you
Annabel! Love and gratitude, Michael
